In order to promote the dissemination of traditional crafts among the public, the transfer of knowledge within the sector, the preservation of crafts that are at risk of disappearing, the improvement of artisan product quality, and the achievement of greater recognition and prestige for the sector, the roles of Artisan Instructor and Artisan Teacher have been established.
Artisan Instructor
The Artisan Instructor designation may be granted to those artisans whose technical and teaching knowledge qualifies them to pass on the skills and techniques of their craft. The procedure and requirements for obtaining this status will be defined by regulation.
Artisan Teacher
The Artisan Teacher title will be awarded by the competent authority to artisans with proven teaching ability and extensive experience, who serve as mentors and role models for training new generations. The granting of this title will require a prior report from the Canary Islands Artisan Commission, and the specific requirements and procedures will be determined by regulation.
